Taniwha

Creating our Taniwha illustration - Using Pastel, Coloured Pencils and Shading

In Māori mythology, taniwha are beings that live in deep pools in rivers, dark caves, or in the sea, especially in places with dangerous currents or deceptive breakers.

Room 7 are creating the Taniwha graphic with colour and / or black and white. Using symbols, shapes, lines, repeated images, reference to land and sea. Intricate tattoo details, facial features and the tongue.

WALT- understand the colour wheel, contrasting colours (hot and cold), black and white, design a myth, smudging / scratching pastel. Gradient - light to dark. Juxtapose cultural symbols and figures to enhance the framework of your representation. Use balance and harmony.

Please look out for the classes completed pictures, that we cannot wait to share with you very soon !
