Powhiri Welcome
A wonderful Assembly and warm welcome from the Glen Taylor Kapa Haka group, on a crisp March morning.
The colourful costumes and energetic Kapa Haka movements were great to watch. A very talented group of boys and girls who sung proudly, amongst friends.
Thank you for an engaging, kind and thoughtful Maori introduction, including students, families and teachers.
A pōwhiri is a Māori welcoming ceremony involving speeches, dancing, singing and finally the hongi. It is used to welcome guests into a new setting, like a school. Your powhiri sounds very special...What was your favourite part Room 7?
