How does a nappy keep the babies bottom dry?
Tuakana was facinated by the materials found inside a babies nappy - fluffy cotton and very small crystals
Amindeep cut the nappy open and pulled out the inside padding, separating the crystals and fluffy cotton into a ziplock plastic bag
Once we put the crystals in a transparant cup, the boys and girls were interested to see how many teaspoons of water could be added to absorb the crystals
To make our learning more exciting the children took home their cup of wet crystals and added food colouring
When the senior students did the same experiment they had a snow ball fight outside on the grass field, which looked like a lot of fun.
